Gary Con XIV CV-19 Stance

Greetings Gary Con Goers,
We are about 6 months out from Gary Con XIV.  We plan on gathering at the Grand Geneva in beautiful Lake Geneva Wisconsin March 24-27, 2022 to Celebrate A Life Well-Played. We have some important dates coming up soon.  Hotel room reservations at the Grand open up on Wednesday, September 1st at 9 am Central Time. I suggest using the website to secure a room as there are only so many people answering the phones at the call center.  If you miss out on the Grand, don’t despair as there are some great options for overflow rooms.  Timber Lodge is right on the Grand campus less than 1 mile away and has a shuttle service to the Grand.  Timber has a cool indoor water park that is ideal for families with children.  This year we also added the Holiday Inn Vacation Club right on the Grand campus within walking distance of the Grand convention center. We also have Gary Con rates with Comfort Suites, the Fairfield Inn and Hampton Inn (Elkhorn).  Please see the Gary Con website for the updated information on Wednesday, September 1st (Hotel Info).  If you haven’t gotten your badges yet, what are you waiting for?  Get your badges now! And don’t forget to preorder your Gary Con XIV swag and you can  Get your GC Merch.
Several people have asked me about Coronavirus or the Delta Variant and what we are doing to help mitigate the potential impacts of the virus.  I have answered that we will take appropriate actions based on the circumstances at that time and the public health guidance in place at the federal, state and local levels.  That remains true and we will adjust to the situation as it develops over the coming months.  However, I think that it is best to keep open communications with you, our Gary Con Family, so you can know what to expect or at least what we think at this point in time.  The FDA has approved a vaccine and many events are requiring proof of vaccination to attend.  We decided that that is in fact what we prefer for all who choose to come to Gary Con. However, some are unable to safely get the vaccine so we will also accept a negative coronavirus test within the last 72 hours.  So if you are coming to Gary Con, please be prepared to show proof of vaccination or a negative test in order to get your badge.  We are making changes to help protect everyone at Gary Con as well.  We will have hand sanitizer available as well as disinfectant spray to help keep gaming tables clean.  We spread tables out a bit and reduced the number of players at each table as well.  But gaming conventions by their nature out us in close confines around the table.  So we will require everyone to wear a mask unless you are actively taking a drink or eating a meal. I am really looking forward to seeing all of you in Lake Geneva again after three years.  I appreciate everyone pulling together to make it possible despite a lingering coronavirus problem.  I encourage all of you to consider vaccination if you haven’t done so already and to safely continue living life as we fight through this together.
Game On!
