Gary Con XVII – January Newsletter

Event Registration begins via tiered release starting this weekend and opening on Saturdays throughout February—so make sure you know what day you can register for events!

With the exception of Adventurers League games, the Events Team has scheduled all our events for Gary Con XVII. The Adventurers League events will be added as soon as a technical issue is resolved.

This means we’ll now drop the percentage of tickets available heading into our first tier, so don’t panic! Tickets will become available 30 minutes prior to every tier opening.

Event registration begins based on badge-level:

• Diamond Event Ticket Sales Open:
  • Feb. 1, 2025 @ 12:00pm (noon) Central Time
• Platinum Event Ticket Sales Open:
  • Feb. 8, 2025 @ 12:00pm (noon) Central Time
• Gold Event Ticket Sales Open:
  • Feb. 15, 2025 @ 12:00pm (noon) Central Time
• Silver Event Ticket Sales Open:
  • Feb. 22, 2025 @ 12:00pm (noon) Central Time

The Gary Con Charity Auction will be held in the Grand Geneva Lobby on Saturday, March 22 at 3pm, so get your bidding arm ready to raise funds for charity!

We hope you will consider making an item donation, to help make our auction a great success for Gary Con XVII.

Don’t forget about the third annual Gary Con Cosplay Competition, on Saturday, March 22 in the Grand Geneva Lobby around 12pm (noon)!

In honor of Chaosium’s 50th anniversary, the cosplay themes are: 

• Call of Cthulhu
• Runequest
• Pendragon

Do you love trading card games? We expanded our TCG events for Gary Con XVII! You’ll want to visit the Grand Ski Chalet to check it out—just a short trolley ride from the main lodge!

While you’re there, check out the chalet vendors, including: Oddwillow’s Game Haven, GriffoNest Games, and Grognard Games.

Do you like to check out all the little extras? Learn more about some of the “side quests” you can pursue to enhance your Gary Con adventure! 

This includes things like: Deck of Gary Things, Board Game Library, Wall of Remembrance, E. Gary Gygax Lifetime Achievement Award, Hawaiian Shirt Picture, and more. 

There are around 100 Silver Badges remaining, so if you haven’t bought a badge yet, now is a great time to make a purchase and finalize your travel plans.

Looking for an epic adventuring experience? Learn about the Founders & Legends Incarnate Tournament and get one of the last Hero of the Realm badges to participate in the days before Gary Con.
