Gygax Youth Gaming
Gary Con and the Gygax family are pleased to announce the creation of a new educational gaming program for Wisconsin and Illinois High School organizations. Gygax Youth Gaming is designed to provide an opportunity for your student gaming club to experience the fun and excitement of convention gaming at Gary Con XIX in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, March 18-21, 2027.
At Gary Con, we believe the educational and social benefits of gaming are many, and we strive to create a safe environment that nurtures creativity and the sense of community that brings gamers together.
Tabletop Role-playing Games as Learning Tools
Gary Con and the Gygax family strongly believe in the benefits of gaming to develop life skills for students of all ages. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for fun and learning.
RPGs provide authentic, immersive learning contexts where math, language, history, ethics, and teamwork are practiced naturally through shared narrative problem-solving. This integrated approach makes learning memorable and intrinsically motivating; students eagerly calculate complex percentages, memorize extensive lore, and negotiate team dynamics due to deep investment in their characters’ success.
